How to Safely Send Biological Materials to Made of Us Keepsakes Co.

Thank you for trusting Made of Us Keepsakes Co. with such precious materials. We know how meaningful this process is and want to make it as simple and safe as possible for you.

Below are step-by-step instructions for sending your materials to us for your custom keepsake.

Please include your full name, email, phone number, and order number inside the package so we can easily match your materials with your design.

🍼 For Breastmilk Keepsakes

  • Send 5–10 ml of breastmilk (about 1–2 teaspoons).

  • Fresh or frozen ; it doesn't matter.

  • Please store in a breastmilk storage bag or small, leak-proof container.

  • Double-bag the milk to prevent leaks.

  • There is no need for ice packs

  • Lable the bag with your name, order number and phone number

đź’‡ For Hair Keepsakes

  • Send a small lock about 1 inch long and the width of a pencil (less is fine).

  • Place hair in a small plastic bag or envelope labeled with your name, order number, and phone number.

  • Do not tape or glue the hair.

🕊️ For Ash Keepsakes

  • Send ½ teaspoon of ash per piece (we only use a very small amount).

  • Please place ashes in a small, sealed bag or screw-top container inside a padded envelope.

  • Label clearly with your name, order number, and phone number.

All unused/excess material will be returned with the keepsake. Except for liquid breastmilk. Breastmilk customers will receive back their powder form breastmilk, but not any remaining liquid.

✉️ Packaging Tips

  • Place all materials in a padded mailer or small box.

  • Include your name, order number, and contact information on/with your biological materials.

  • You may also include a short personal note or story about your keepsake if you wish — many of our clients like to share the meaning behind their piece. I will use this in digital materials like TikTok reels.

đź’› After Shipping

Once your materials arrive, you’ll receive a confirmation email. We will never begin crafting your piece until materials are safely received and your design details are confirmed.

Please allow standard processing times as listed in your order confirmation — and remember, every piece is handcrafted with care and intention. Turnaround times are affected by shipping times.

âť—Important Notes

  • We cannot be held responsible for materials lost in transit, so we recommend adding tracking to your shipment.

  • Do not send irreplaceable items (such as the only copy of ashes or a sole hair lock) unless you are comfortable doing so — if possible, divide materials before sending.
